Arrested Development讲的是一个很有钱的家庭Bluth家庭的故事.配角Michael是家中二子,他始终辛辛劳苦的为家属任务,生机有一天可以接替父亲George Sr.的地位.成果在第一集里,爸爸George Sr.把董事长的地位交给了他妈妈Lucille.就在各人庆贺爸爸的退休集会的时间,警员涌现,带走了George Sr.,罪名是他们家属的人把团体当成了私家提款机,四处乱费钱.Michael本来很受伤,盘算去另一个公司任务,最后仍是决议留在家属打理种种事件. 重要脚色还包含GOB,Michael的年老（由Amy Poler的丈夫表演）.GOB是一位把戏师,整天只有损坏不建立,另有点胡思乱想.Michael的儿子,George Michael（汗）.George Michael有着精良的家教,算是这个无私下利家属里的异端（他爸爸偶然会耍点怀心眼）,已经暗恋本人的堂妹Maeby（发音Maybe).Maeby 的妈妈就是Michael的妹妹Lindsay.毫无任务的她现在正在跟丈夫Tobias处在仳离边沿.费钱大手大脚,有点巨细姐.Tobias本来是个心思大夫,由于有意中救错人而被撤消执照.生机成为一名演员,同样有些胡思乱想.他很畏惧裸露身材,以是素来外面都穿戴条牛仔短裤,这也使得他跟 Lindsay的性生涯很有疑问.Buster是家属中最小的儿子,由于从小到多数跟妈妈住在一同,以是有些恋母情节（更感到有些同性恋）.在第二季度由于老妈被一个长得象Michael Morre的人逼问会不会送小友人去伊拉克而被报名从军.之后负气下海泅水而被海豹咬掉落左手,现在用铁钩取代. 这部片的拍摄手段是应用记录片的手段,偶然会对故事里提到的事直接闪回.搞笑的是家属里的人的种种怪僻典跟互相盘算以及经由过程闪回带来的滑稽.画外音是由Ron Howard来配的（奥斯卡最佳导演掉掉落者）.在第二季度外面,他们发明白老爸George Sr.不只私挪公款,还跟萨达姆直接买卖.
